“Programs” refers to the presentations, speakers, and topics of our monthly meetings. OVWC has always hosted monthly meetings. These topics have varied from worldwide topics of interest while also focusing on local issues. Examples include the 1908 earthquake and tsunami in Italy, which killed hundreds of thousands of people, and survivors faced freezing conditions. A Discussion and the appointment of a committee of three in 1910 to investigate the feasibility of organizing a society for the prevention of cruelty to animals in this county. Note that the Ojai Humane Society would not be created until 1932, these ladies were ahead of their time and their causes continued to focus near and far.
